“Empowering the future of underserved regions in India; building a brighter tomorrow through education.”

Supporting Communities

The Sher Organization, in partnership with the Akhil Maharashtra Education Society (AMES), is raising funds to build a school in the village of Satara, India. Creating a school in the center of over eight villages, AMES supports local communities by providing nearby education and transport to those in need.

Educating

As of 2023, there are 263 million children who go without school. 142 million of them of high school age, ranging from 15 to 19 years old. 12.97 million children from ages 6 to 17 in India alone are left without a formal education, which is close to 20% of the age group that is protected by the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009.

Improving Futures

With a population of over 1.4 billion people, economic disparity in India affects millions. Roughly 145.71 million people are living below the poverty line, surviving off just $325 USD a year. Struggling for basic necessities, school and education becomes a luxury to many, especially when the nearest school is over a 45 minute drive.

Providing Opportunity

As of 2023, there are over 200 million people in the world who are unemployed, and 7.33% of them reside in India. This is due to about 50% of India’s children lacking the access to quality education after primary school, as well as 90% of them not having access to postgraduate courses.
