In April of 2023, we set out to make a difference, and use our resources to provide for those lacking. After discussion between our founders, Dhruv Kapoor and Ishaan Akileswar, the two decided to create a non-profit to help the underprivileged youth of India.

In August, we travelled to Satara Maharashtra to find a possible partnership. After extensive research, searching through nearly 200 organizations, and many failed meetings with organizations which lacked an FCRA, we were able to find an existing organization by the name of Akhil Maharashtra Education Society (AMES), based in Satara Maharashtra, India. Dhruv Kapoor, Co-Founder and Executive Director, met with Dhananjay Nimbalkar and her husband, who have been improving the livelihood of rural youths since 2005. They built an elementary school for grades pre-K through 7th grade, and have been funding their work through a small construction company owned Mrs. Nimbalkar’s husband.

While visiting the school, Mr. Kapoor was inspired by Mrs. Nimabalkar and her commitment to a vision which strongly aligns with The Sher Organization's. He was touched by the enthusiasm the children had to learn, and after discussing his experience with his co-founder and Executive Director, Ishaan Akileswar, he finalized the partnership.

In September of 2023, we completed the due diligence of setting up our nonprofit; setting up our EIN, our 501(c), registering with the Secretary of State, and organizing our team and their roles in the organization. We strived to create an environment which works towards our mission; handpicking the roles of our extraordinary team, so that our goals with AMES will come to fruition.

The Sher Organization’s goal is to aid in the fight against education insecurity; raising money to fund the high school AMES aims to build. We truly believe in the message and agenda AMES has spread, and we hope that you will too.
